Between Thursday, Sept. 24, and Monday, Sept. 28, the University tested a total of 406 students, 25 of which came back positive for COVID-19.

Twenty-seven students who previously tested positive passed the required quarantine period, and 14 potential COVID-19 cases are under surveillance by the University.

Since Tuesday, Sept.1, there have been a total of 2,470 students tested, resulting in 101 positive cases.

No staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 since the academic year began.

The recent uptick in confirmed cases caused the University to upgrade its COVID-19 status to “yellow,” which represents a “low to moderate” risk.

"The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community is our priority as we continue operations during the Covid-19 pandemic," officials stated. "To ensure that our Stags remain safe and healthy throughout the fall semester, Fairfield has developed a six-layered, integrated approach that exceeds state requirements, all to protect our campus community."
